Dylan Yoder discusses his first Appalachian Mountain Speedweek victory.
What won the race: Dylan Yoder of Selinsgrove, Pa., inherited the lead on lap four after early leader Tyler Emory spun on his lonesome and led the final 32 laps for his first career Appalachian Mountain Speedweek victory Saturday at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa. Jason Covert of York Haven, Pa., finished 1.115 seconds behind Yoder, who earned $5,000.
Quotable: "Definitely a lot of fun. I like the short tracks," Yoder said in victory lane. "Could've been our second win of the week, but Clinton County didn't work out for us. Still feels pretty good to win here. Lincoln's been good to us. Not sure what happened to (Tyler) Emory there; clipped the inside wall and got stuck. He would've been hard to beat if that wouldn't have happened."
Key notes: Saturday's win made Yoder the 26th different winner in Appalachian Mountain Speedweek history. .. Tyler Emory of King George, Pa., spun while leading on lap four, bringing out the only caution of the 35-lap feature that lasted 15 minutes when he clipped the inside wall in turns one and two. He salvaged a 15th-place result. ... Yoder set fast time with a lap of 15.946 seconds while Hardy of Winchester, Va., was fastest in Group B. ... Rick Eckert of York, Pa., blew an engine during hot laps and scratched for the evening. ... Matt Adams of New Cumberland, Pa., finished 10th in his first-ever Super Late Model race. ... Two-time Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway Limited Late Model champ Devin Hart finished 19th aboard the Shaun Jones-owned No. 32. ... Current points leader Gregg Satterlee of Indiana, Pa., started and finished seventh, his worst result this miniseries.
On the move: Justin Weaver of Williamsport, Md., started 12th and finished fifth.
Winner's sponsors: Yoder's Rocket Chassis has a Miller Racing Engine and sponsorship from Strouse Electric, Broadband Networks, Ingram Fuels and S&R Repair.
Points chase: After Lincoln: 1. Gregg Satterlee (4,260); 2. Matt Cosner (4,084); 3. Coleby Frye (4,051); 4. Dylan Yoder (4,044); 5. Hayes Mattern (3,930); 6. Rick Eckert (3,848); 7. Dan Stone (3,848); 8. Andrew Yoder (3,829); 9. Bryan Bernheisel (3,656); 10. Austin Berry (3,332).
