Logan Robertson celebrates his Natural Bridge victory.
What won the race: Pole-starting Logan Roberson of Waynesboro, Va., captured a commanding flag-to-flag victory in Saturday's 57-lap, $10,000 Bridge 57 at Natural Bridge Speedway. Roberson, the 2021 American All-Star Series presented by PPM champion, secured his fourth straight series win at Natural Bridge and his fifth overall triumph dating back to last year, earning nearly $40,000 there over that span.
Key notes: Sixth-starting Justin Williams, 2021's $2,500 series winner there, battled Dillon Brown for the runner-up spot throughout the second half of the race, ultimately finishing 0.572 of a second back of Roberson at the checkers. ... Brown settled for third. ... Jeremy Steele improved four positions and rounded out the top five. ... A.J. Hicks challenged Roberson in the early going before slipping to finish sixth. ... Saturday's Bridge 57 feature was slowed by five separate incidents and lasted 42 minutes, with 11 drivers completing the distance.
On the move: Hayden Cardwell of Knoxville, Tenn., started 24th and finished seventh.
Winner's sponsors: Roberson’s CVR Race Cars entry carries sponsorship from Gunter’s Honey, Franklin Enterprises, Clary’s Used Cars, RBS Auto Sales, Blue Ridge Treescape Service, King’s Sanitary Service, Riggs Drilling Solutions, Dynamic Drivelines, Wynbridge Inc., Sweet Manufacturing, NAPA Auto Parts, VP Race Fuels, Pro Fabrication and All About Wraps.
Points chase: After Natural Bridge: 1. A.J. Hicks (401); T2. Bailie Lowe (365); T2. Zach Sise (365); 4. Joshua Chesney (332); 5. Jordan Hedger (324).
