What won the race: Michael Rouse of Wilson, N.C., controlled all 40 laps from the pole to win Saturday's $5,000 Wayne Gray Sr. Memorial at Fayetteville Motor Speedway. Rouse recorded his second career Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series victory and his first since Sept. 17, 2022, at County Line Raceway in Elm City, N.C.
Key notes: It's Rouse's fifth overall triumph of the season. ... Fifth-starting Ross Bailes initially trailed Rouse from laps 11-24 before giving way to Michael Brown on the 25th circuit. Brown pursued Rouse until Bailes reclaimed the runner-up spot on the final lap, taking the checkers 0.701 of a second back. Brown settled for third, 0.636 behind Bailes. ... Donovan Jackson improved three positions to round out the top five. ... The main event lasted 16 minutes with 14 drivers completing 40 laps.
On the move: Series points leader Adam Yarbrough of Denver, N.C., started 15th and finished ninth.
