Key notes: The Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals rolled into Senoia (Ga.) Raceway for Thursday's $7,544-to-win Roscoe Smith Classic before rain hit just after time trials began. Only the first three drivers (Austin Smith, Caleb Gay, J.R. Moselely) completed one lap before the skies opened up, with Moseley slapping the turn one wall on his second circuit, leaving his No. 99 stranded on the heavily saturated track. ... Senoia is now zero-for-three in hosting a Super Late Model event this year because of adverse weather. … The event honors former racer Roscoe Smith, a standout in his own right and father of Late Model veteran Clint Smith. … The 602 Red Clay Series ($1,053-to-win), chargers and bombers were scheduled on the undercard.
