What won the race: Powering around mid-race leader Justin Kay with seven laps remaining, 14th-starting Tad Pospisil of Norfolk, Neb., sprinted to a hometown victory in Saturday's 30-lap Bob Haase Memorial at Off Road Speedway. Pospisil's $3,000 payday gives him four Malvern Bank West Series victories on the season, including three straight and the weekend sweep after topping Friday's $3,000 opener at Thayer County Speedway in Deshler, Neb.
Key notes: Pospisil maneuvered through traffic seemingly unobstructed, as he marched from fourth-to-first between laps 17-24 and ran away from Justin Kay to win by 1.141 seconds, grabbing his 37th career victory. ... Third-starting Kay, of Wheatland, Iowa, led laps 19-23. ... Dylan Sillman led the opening 18 laps from the pole before sliding back to 10th. The young driver relied on the cushion in the early going before finding it difficult to rotate the bottom in the closing laps. ... Brian Kosiski remained committed to the high line, reclaiming third from the fading Sillman on lap 24 and notching his best finish of the season. ... Ninth-starting J.C. Wyman passed Chad Holladay for fifth as they came to take the white flag. ... Justin Zeitner gained five spots and placed seventh. ... The race's lone caution flew on lap three when Kyle Berck spun from 10th and nosed into an inside tractor tire. He continued and finished 16th. ... The main event lasted just shy of 10 minutes, with 17 drivers completing the distance. ... Charlie McKenna was the only starter failing to finish after he frantically pulled into the infield under green on the 13th circuit.
On the move: Race winner Tad Pospisil started 14th.
Winner's sponsors: Pospisil's Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Scott Bailey Racing Engine and sponsored by Signor Trucking, Window World, Iron Horse CPAs & Advisors, Dietz Well & Pumps, 97.5 WEXL/WJAG, Island Supply, Bad Chad Motorsports and Malvern Bank.
