What won the race: Coming alive late, polesitter Shane Sabraski of Rice, Minn., rolled under fellow division rookie Lee Grosz on the backstretch to grab the lead on the 42nd lap and barely held on to capture the Late Model portion of Saturday's WISSOTA 100 at I-94 EMR Speedway. Sabraski, who slipped back to fourth mid-race, turned up in the wick in the inside groove, turning back a last-ditch challenge from fellow front-row starter Mike Greseth to win by 0.200 of a second.

Quotable: "I was just kind of trying to keep my stuff straight and it's hard to do, though, when they're driving away me like that," Sabraski said. "I'm that good at running the wall anyways, so I was just trying of keep her straight and see what happens at the end, hoping a caution would come out."

Key notes: Sabraski notched the 16th victory of his rookie Late Model season and 930th overall victory among multiple WISSOTA divisions. ... Mike Greseth ran high into turns three and four on the final lap and nearly got on the outside of Sabraski, but Sabraski shut the door and won the drag race to checkers. ... Lee Grosz was dominant most of the first 40 laps, leading by nearly three seconds on occasion, but he retired after 45 laps while repeatedly crunching the outside wall. ... Besides the lap-46 caution for Grosz, four cautions slowed the action, the most serious that turned into a red flag on the 29th lap when sixth-running Kollin Hibdon got hung up on the outside wall entering turn one and collected Johnny Broking with Don Shaw piling into the mess; no one was injured in the violent wreck. ... Cory Crapser spun on the second lap. ... Amelia Eisenschenk stopped for a lap-11 yellow flag. ... Jayson Good stopped in turn one for a lap-22 caution. ... Sabraski, Grosz and Mike Greseth won the week's preliminary features to earn front-row starting spots in the race starting three abreast.

On the move: Ryan Mikkelson of Alexandria, Minn., started 19th and finished third.
