Logan Roberson finds himself in a familiar place, Natural Bridge's victory lane.
What won the race: Fourth-starting Logan Roberson of Waynesboro, Va., survived a green-white-checkered finish to repeat in Saturday's second annual Pro Late Model Paramount, adding another $10,000 American All-Star Series presented by PPM victory to his credit at Natural Bridge Speedway. Roberson beat Tyler Arrington to the checkers by 2.015 seconds for his seventh triumph this season at Natural Bridge.
Quotable: “I’ve always said, I race people how they race me. You know, in the past, I haven’t gotten raced so clean,” Roberson said, speaking of the mid-race contact between him, Joey Leavell and Justin Williams. “I mean, I hated that happened, but I’ve been raced before like that, but I don’t forget the way people do me. I take this to my heart and this is what I do for a living, so I don’t appreciate when people drive me like that, so I don’t drive (Williams) with the same respect.”
Key notes: Roberson, the 2021 All-Star Series champ, has now won five of the last seven tour stops at Natural Bridge, dating back to June 10, 2023, earning more than $45,000 over that span. ... Joey Leavell led the opening 35 laps from the pole before contact with Roberson sent him sliding to finish eighth. ... Justin Williams battled with Roberson and Leavell before he was parked for his on-track behavior and excessive contact on lap 40. Williams was disqualified and moved to last in the final rundown. ... Tyler Arrington, the 2019 All-Star Series champ, inherited second on the lap-40 restart and trailed Roberson the rest of the way. ... Randy Weaver started seventh and finished fourth aboard Chip Vineyard's No. 17w CVR Race Cars entry. ... Benji Hicks gained five spots and rounded out the top five. ... A.J. Hicks retired on lap 25 and was credited with 22nd, clinching the 2024 American All-Star Series title by 32-points over Zach Sise. ... The 60-lapper lasted 33 minutes, with 18 starters completing the distance and 20 running at the finish.
On the move: Hayden Cardwell of Knoxville, Tenn., started 22nd and finished 10th.
Winner's sponsors: Roberson’s CVR Race Cars entry carries sponsorship from Gunter’s Honey, Wynbridge Inc., Riggs Drilling Solutions, Kings Sanitary Service, Blue Ridge Treescape Service, Clary’s Used Cars, Bobby’s Towing Service, Long & Foster Real Estate, New Point Lighting & Design, VP Racing Fuels, Dynamic Drivelines, Earnhardt Technologies Group, ProFabrication Headers and Exhaust, Sweet Manufacturing and All About Wraps.
