Josh Rice in victory lane at Lawrenceburg Speedway.
What won the race: Josh Rice of Verona, Ky., rocketed from the pole to a flag-to-flag victory in Saturday night's 30-lap Northern Allstars Late Model Series feature at Lawrenceburg Speedway. He beat fifth-starting Devin Gilpin to the finish line for a $5,000 payday.
Quotable: “Man, this place, it’s been so bad to me,” Rice said. “I about killed myself there (in turn one) two years ago, and then I busted a radiator last year. This place is just hard to win at and I’m glad we finally got it done."
Key notes: Rice's victory was his third in four NALMS events this season. His previous successes came on March 29 and April 12 at his home track, Florence Speedway in Union, Ky. ... It was Rice's fourth overall triumph of 2025. ... Gilpin ran second for the race's final 13 laps but finished more than a straightaway behind Rice. ... The feature was marred by Jason Jameson's wild series of flips with 13 laps remaining as he was running second at his hometown track. The Justin Rattliff Racing driver's car bicycled entering turn one, rolled multiple times and as it came to rest was clipped by Dustin Nobbe's passing machine, but he escaped without injury. ... Nobbe's car also sustained heavy right-side damage but he was OK. ... Tyler Neal improved 10 positions and finished sixth.
On the move: Billy Green of Walton, Ky., started 13th and finished fifth.
Winner's sponsors: Rice’s Rick Jones-owned Rocket Chassis is powered by a Jay Dickens Racing Engine and carries sponsorship from Sunesis Holdings, M.C. Tank Transport, AirMax Heating and Cooling, Glenwood Electric, Rice Excavating & Plumbing, Chain Locker USA, Impact RaceGear, RBRGear.com, Schaeffers Oil, Sunoco Race Fuels, Victory Seats, DirtCarLift.com, TopSide Marketing and Slicker Graphics.
