Tristan Chamberlain celebrates the most lucrative victory of his career.
What won the race: Tristan Chamberlain of Richmond, Ind., overcame multiple restarts and heavy lapped traffic en route to a dominant victory in Saturday night's Salute the Troops 40 at 191 Speedway. Chamberlain crossed the line 0.631 of a second ahead of Derek Fisher for the $5,000 payday and his first career Ultimate Heart of America Series victory.
Quotable: “I’m pretty sure this is my biggest win to this day, five grand, so it’s pretty cool. It’s great to do it with the Ultimate (Heart of America Series), I ran their series a bunch before in the past, so it’s great to get my biggest win with them so far,” Chamberlain said. “I figured (Derek Fisher) would be right on me (at the finish). That lapped traffic, you had get through it one way or another. I knew on the restarts he’d be right on me, so I was trying to protect my lane right around the tires as much as possible.”
