Jason Hahne led all 30 laps Sunday at Dubuque Speedway.
What won the race: Dominating 30 laps, Jason Hahne of Webster City, Iowa, scored a $3,000 Malvern Bank East Super Late Model Series victory Sunday at Dubuque Speedway. Hahne led by more than 2.5 seconds early and stayed ahead of a tight, three-way battle behind him for his first series victory since 2023. He held off a last-ditch charge by Chad Simpson, who was 0.365 of a second behind at the checkers.
Key notes: Jason Hahne, two years ago a series winner at Dubuque and now the tour's first two-time winner at the track, started outside front row. ... Hahne stayed out front in the second half of the race with Jesse Sobbing, Dylan Thornton and Chad Simpson swapping slide jobs. ... Three cautions slowed the action, the first on the second lap when Jesse Glenz made turn-three contact with Jesse Sobbing, collecting Luke Merfeld and Charlie McKenna, whose car was towed. ... Polesitter Don Geist of Burlington, Colo., making his first start with the Malvern East circuit, blew a right-rear tire on the 13th lap. ... Fifth-running C.J. Horn slowed for a lap-24 yellow flag. ... A $600 bonus was available to Glenz if he'd have won from the sixth starting spot.
On the move: Jacob Hobschiedt of Plattsmouth, Neb., started 18th and finished fifth.
Winner's sponsors: Hahne’s Zeus Chassis by Mike Mataragas Enterprises has a Shepherd Engine Development powerplant and sponsorship Burke Plain Plumbing, Dub-C Designs, Gerber Auto, Rick Hahne Calls, Anderson Farms, Seed Ease, Trojan Enterprises, Larry Brim Family, State Farm Insurance (Jerry Goebel), Stein Heating and Cooling, Tom and Holly Riem, Doctor P, Tim Mickelson, Caquelin Express, K&M Ag Construction, Karl Kustoms, Karl Chevrolet, Majewski Tire, Willems Family, Nutech seed, Dinsdale Family Farms, JDK services, Leonard Moss Roofing, K&H, The Investors (Tim and Scott), Nehring Construction, Felts Detailing Products and Otho Motorsports.
