Brown bagged his second career Cagle Automotive Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Model Series victory, his second this season after winning June 14's $3,000 stop at Harris Speedway in Rutherfordton, N.C.
Key notes: Matt Long, who won a $3,308 Blue Ridge Outlaws stop there last fall, inherited second place when Dillon Brown brought out the race's final caution on the 29th lap and retired. Brown, brother of Jacob and $5,000 series winner Thursday at Cherokee Speedway, was credited with 11th. ... Dale Timms overcame a back-and-forth tussle in the closing laps with Anthony Sanders and finished third, leaving Sanders in fourth. ... Kennie Compton, winner of the night's B-main, gained four spots and rounded out the top five. ... A fireworks show preceded the night’s Hall of Fame ceremony where John Rhyne, Mark Abernathy and Dennis Stines were honored. ... The 40-lapper lasted 29 minutes, with six starters completing the distance. ... Mark Greene scratched from his scheduled eighth starting spot, Aaron Weed loaded up after hot laps.
On the move: Braden Jones of Cherryville, N.C., started 16th and finished seventh.
Winner's sponsors: Brown’s Longhorn Chassis is sponsored by Cherokee Landscaping, Performance Automotive & Towing, Highway Body Shop, Pro Fabrication Headers, SRI Performance, Earnhardt Technologies Group, Renegade Race Fuel, Swift Springs, Hardison Suspension Technologies and Wrayz Wrapz.
