What won the race: Regaining the lead from Brandon Overton with four laps remaining, Garrett Alberson of Las Cruces, N.M., captured Thursday's Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series feature at 34 Raceway for a $15,000 payday. Alberson started on the pole, led 35 laps and fell behind Overton and then Hudson O'Neal. But with four laps remaining, Overton got too high exiting turn two and O'Neal edged ahead on the backstretch. Overton slipped back ahead of O'Neal heading down the frontstretch, but a high-flying Alberson roared past on the outside for a 50-lap triumph, the second of his Lucas Oil Series career.
Quotable: "These things are really hard (to win). We've been up front a lot and haven't been able to finish it out," Alberson said. "It's tough at times, but, these guys are all so good and this competition is amazing so just big thanks to Ken and Beth Roberts. We've got such a cool team. We're gelling good and having fun and the car feels fast."
