What won the race: Reclaiming control from Shaun Jones with an outside move on a lap-21 restart, pole-starting Gregg Satterlee of Indiana, Pa., led the final 15 laps unchallenged in winning Friday's $6,000 Selinsgrove Ford Appalachian Mountain Speedweek finale at Selinsgrove Speedway. Satterlee led twice for 23 laps (1-7, 21-35) before beating Jones by 0.958 of a second for his third Appalachian Speedweek victory of the season in clinching the 2025 miniseries title.
Quotable: “Congratulations to (Shaun Jones), he did a really good job. His car was just really pinned on the bottom and I just couldn’t seem to really stay down there the whole first part of the race,” Satterlee said. “Luckily as the race wore on, my tires got a little bit more underneath me and I was able to maneuver better. We had that restart, I was able to get the racetrack cleaned in front of me and I was able to move wide and kinda get a run on him, rolled the outside once I get a little better balance.”
Key notes: Satterlee secured his second straight Appalachian Mountain Speedweek title and third overall (2013, '24-'25). ... It was his 12th career Speedweek win, further extending his all-time miniseries lead. ... It's his fifth feature victory of the season and his second Selinsgrove triumph after also winning May 2's $5,000 local unsanctioned event. ... Shaun Jones slipped by Satterlee and led laps 8-20 before Satterlee got back by him on the lap-21 restart, relegating Jones to second. ... Hayes Mattern passed Kyle Lee for third on lap 15, while Rick Eckert grabbed fourth on the final lap, relegating Lee to fifth. ... Second-starting Bryan Bernheisel faded to 11th. ... Open-wheel standout Briggs Danner started 14th and finished 16th aboard a Bernheisel-owned Lazer Chassis. ... Danny Snyder slowed down the backstretch for the race's lone stoppage on lap 21; he continued but could only muster a 19th-place result. ... The 35-lap feature, a makeup of June 12's rainout, lasted 17 minutes, with 17 starters completing the distance. ... The event didn't count for Selinsgrove's weekly Super Late Model points.
On the move: Jeff Rine of Danville, Pa., started 17th and finished 10th.
