What won the race: Capturing his biggest victory, fifth-starting Deisel Jones of Alabaster, Ala., earned a $12,000 Crate Racin' USA Winter Shootout victory Saturday at Hendry County Motorsports Park. The fifth-starting Jones took the lead from polesitter Christian Schneider on the 19th lap and led the rest of the 75-lap Clyde Johnson Contracting & Roofing-sponsored event.
Quotable: "It's amazing," Jones said. "Coming down here, I didn't know what I was expecting, but I guess I love it now."
Key notes: Deisel Jones notched his seventh career Crate Late Model victory. ... He was a winner last season at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Ala., where he finished third in the opening CRUSA Winter Shootout event. ... Daulton Wilson of Fayetteville, N.C., made a last-ditch charge on the high side late in the race but couldn't overcome the inside lane of winner Deisel Jones. ...
