Litton tops SUPR's Longhorn Rumble in Houston

BAYTOWN, Texas (Sept. 8) — Texas has been kind to Rob Litton, who had big victories in the Longhorn State in 2005 (Houston Raceway Park's Longhorn Rumble) and 2006 (Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championships in Fort Worth).
The Alexandria, La., driver was on top of his game again in Texas at the sixth annual Longhorn Rumble as he topped a dogfight in O'Reilly Southern United Professional Racing competition.
Litton grabbed the lead at the start of the race from polesitter Marlon Wild and led the first 17 laps by running the outside line. But Litton wasn't alone as a whole pack of cars were up front jockeying for position including SUPR points leader Ray Moore, David Breazeale, Jason Ingalls and Marlon Wild.
But it was local favorite Howard Willis, who started 14th in the feature, that would find his way to the front.�Willis elected to run the bottom and he was able to work his way to the front while the others battled for position.
With five laps remaining, Litton made a second charge around the outside to reclaim the lead and hold off Willis. Ingalls was third followed by Doug Begnaud, who drove a crate-motored car.
Moore hit an infield tire barrier and dropped out while Breazeale cut down a tire with two laps remaining.
