Notes: The 2021 Topless 100 marks the 27th running of the crown-jewel event that began in 1993. … The race was rained out in 2016 and 2018. … The event format is the same as in 2019, when the program was expanded to three nights, with time trials, heat races, consolation races and a $5,000-to-win main event on both Thursday and Friday night. Drivers earn points in each of the two preliminary nights that determine the line-ups for Saturday’s finale. On Saturday, consolation events set the remaining lineup for the Topless 100. … The Topless 100 has averaged 54.7 cars over the last 10 events, including a high of 73 in 2010. … The event record is 107 entrants in 2001. … Jimmy Owens of Newport, Tenn., turned back hometown favorite Billy Moyer’s last-lap charge to win a thrilling 2020 Topless 100. … There have been 15 Topless 100 winners since its inception in 1993, with no repeat winner in the last four events. … Five drivers have multiple Topless 100 wins, led by Hall oF Famers Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn., with five and Moyer of Batesville with four. … Owens now has three wins, while Jimmy Mars and Shannon Babb have two wins each. … No driver has ever won the Topless 100 in back-to-back seasons. …Five home-state drivers have captured Topless 100 titles: Tony Cardin (Greenbrier, ’94); Moyer (Batesville, ’95, ’97, ’02, ’05); Bill Frye (Greenbrier, ’96); Wendell Wallace (Conway, ’98); and Jared Landers (Batesville, ‘10). ...
