Notes: The 2022 Show-Me 100 presented by ProtecttheHarvest.com marks the 30th renewal of the crown jewel event which began in 1993 at West Plains Motor Speedway. … The total purse over the three days is a record $233,000. … The event returned to its three-day format last season and continues this year. … The 2019 event was cancelled by storm damage and the 2020 race was held in July as a one-day affair following its postponement by the Covid-19 pandemic. … The three-day format introduced in 2016 featuring complete $6,000-to-win programs is back for the fifth time. … Drivers earn points during each of the two preliminary nights, which will help set the top 18 starters for Saturday night’s 100-lap finale. … Paying $6,000-to-win, Thursday’s Cowboy Classic headlines opening night, while honoring late Lucas Oil MLRA co-owner Allen “Cowboy” Chancellor. … Friday’s $6,000-to-win preliminary pays tribute to race founders Don and Billie Gibson, former owners of West Plains (Mo.) Motor Speedway. … The annual Midwest Sheet Metal Show-Me Challenge for non-qualifiers pays $2,500-to-win; the winner can forfeit winnings and start the 100-lapper. In 2016, Bobby Pierce won the challenge and then nearly won the Show-Me 100 after taking a late lead. … Thirteen drivers have won the race more than once; Scott Bloomquist’s six victories top the list. Bloomquist’s 2018 win was his first since the event moved to Wheatland from West Plains. … Bloomquist missed the 2020 race after switching national tours, snapping his streak of 26 consecutive feature starts. … Wendell Wallace has 22 starts. … During the event’s West Plains era, Bloomquist not only won the Show-Me 100 five times but also finished among the top five in 13 out of 17 runnings. … Jimmy Owens has won four of the 11 Show-Me 100s contested at Wheatland. Owens has been among the top five six times and led laps in eight different features. He finished eighth last year after leading laps 13-40. … In seven years of preliminary features (there were no preliminary features in 2020), Thursday’s winner has gone on to finish among the top four in Saturday’s finale every time. Last year’s Thursday winner, Tim McCreadie, should have an asterisk beside his name as rain postponed the the prelim to Friday. … The only father-son duo to win the event: Don O’Neal (2014) and Hudson (2021). … Springfield’s Terry Phillips (1999) and Republic’s Payton Looney are the only Missouri winners. … USRA modifieds battle for $750-to-win features Thursday and Friday with $1,500-to-win on Saturday. … The event’s grand marshal is country music star Aaron Tippin. Tippin has a May 27 concert at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
