Dates: Sept. 7-10 (Dream completion Wednesday; Twin $12,000-to-win features both Thursday and Friday, with heats, consolations and a $55,000-to-win main event on Saturday.
Track: Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio (high-banked, half-mile clay oval).
2022 purse: Total purse of $541,900 includes $55,000 to the World 100 winner and at least $5,200 to each of the 24 starters.

Notes: Before the 52nd annual World 100 commences, there’s unfinished business to tend to as Eldora Speedway hosts the conclusion of the Dirt Late Model Dream XXVII, starting at lap 15 on Wednesday. … As a bonus, Wednesday’s action also includes $5,000-to-win Chasing the Dream features, with any driver who has never win a Late Model feature at Eldora (and isn’t in the Dream field) eligible and guaranteed to start. … The last 14 World 100s have produced 11 winners, with four-time winner Jonathan Davenport the only repeat during that stretch. … The 2021 event drew 80 entrants. … There were 10 winners in the first 10 World 100s. … Larry Moore of Dayton, Ohio, was the first two-time winner, with victories in 1979 and 1981. Moore won again in 1985, becoming the event’s first three-time winner. … Seven drivers have won multiple globes, led by the six World 100 victories of Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark. … Davenport, Donnie Moran and Scott Bloomquist have won four apiece. Other multiple winners: Jeff Purvis (three), Larry Moore (three), Brian Birkhofer (two) and Jimmy Owens (two). … Only four drivers have won back-to-back World 100s. Purvis (’83-’84) was the first to accomplish the feat. Moyer (’93-’94), Moran (’96-’97) and Davenport (’19-‘20) are the other two. … To set heat race lineups for Saturday, drivers earn points through their time trials, heats and features on Thursday and Friday. Those points determine Saturday’s heat lineups. Provisionals for the 10th row will be top points earners failing to transfer through heats. … For each of the two Twin 25 qualifying nights, drivers will be limited to four tires for the entirety of the night’s competition (except in rare instances). … On Saturday, drivers will be limited to four tires for the races that determine who advances to the 100-lap features. … Same compound restrictions are in place all three days. Drivers may use any DIRTcar tire on the left front. They are required to use Hoosier M30 compound tires on the other three corners. … Grooving, siping, needling or pinning is allowed. … Saturday’s programs include two consolation races, with the top two from each advancing to the World 100. … DIRTcar points are awarded to all drivers throughout the weekend. … First-time World 100 entrants will vie for extra cash with the Shane Unger Memorial Rookies of the Race awards program; $5,000 total is up for grabs. The award pays tribute to late Ohio driver Shane Unger, who died from injuries suffered in an accident during 2016 World 100 preliminaries. … Drivers are also competing for $10,000 in posted awards via the Every Lap Matters program. … Each World 100 starter is guaranteed $5,200, up from $3,000 last season.
