Notes: Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competitors invade Wheatland, Mo.’s Lucas Oil Speedway for the 33rd annual Show-Me 100 presented by Missouri Division of Tourism. … Action begins with Thursday’s 45-lap, $10,000-to-win 12th annual Cowboy Classic before Friday’s 40-lap, $10,000-to-win Tribute to Don & Billie Gibson. … The top 18 drivers in preliminary points will lock into Saturday’s $75,000-to-win Show-Me 100 field, with the rest of the starting field set by consolations and a 20-lap Show-Me challenge where the winner has the option for a $2,500 payday or can tag the field for the 100-lap finale. … Locked-in teams will compete in Saturday’s Hellraizer Jacks Pit Crew Challenge (3 p.m.), where the team with the fastest two-tire stop earns $2,000 along with a jack valued at more than $1,500; second-place will receive $1,000 with another $1,000 to the Best Appearing Crew. … Nutrien Ag Solutions returns to sponsor the prerace entertainment, including Saturday’s Lee Newton concert (5-5:45 p.m. in midway). … Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., led all 80 laps (reduced from 100) to earn last year’s $50,000 top prize. It was his second career Show-Me triumph (2015). … Points leader and reigning champ Ricky Thornton Jr. of Chandler, Ariz., won both of last year’s $10,000 prelims before settling for fifth in the finale. Thornton leads all drivers with nine series wins this season. … Hudson O’Neal of Martsinville, Ind., is fresh off April’s Spring Nationals sweep at Wheatland, earning more than $27,000 in unsanctioned competition. … B-mods and stock cars contest makeup features on Thursday’s undercard. … Gates open at 4 p.m. for Thursday and Friday prelims before opening an hour earlier for Saturday’s finale; hot laps are set for 6:30 p.m. the first two nights, then 7 p.m. Saturday.
