Friday's races: 14th and 15th of 30 originally scheduled Super Late Model events from Jan. 22-March 7.

Venues: All-Tech Raceway in Ellisville, Fla., and Hendry County Motorsports Park in Clewiston, Fla.

Race details: All-Tech’s $12,000-to-win event is the second of three Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events; Hendry County’s first-ever World of Outlaws Late Model Series event pays $12,000-to-win.

Who's Hot: Thursday’s All-Tech winner Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Ill., added the Lucas Oil opener to his WoO victory in the finale of Volusia’s DIRTcar Nationals.

Who's Not: Chris Madden of Gray Court, S.C., was solid in the first half of Volusia’s DIRTcar Nationals, but hasn’t been a factor for three straight events, retiring in each including All-Tech’s opener.

DirtonDirt prediction: Ricky Thornton Jr. grabs Friday’s victory at All-Tech to win at the half-mile oval for the fourth straight Winternationals. — Todd Turner

Around the Pits: Hendry County drew 28 cars for practice including five home-state drivers. … Brandon Sheppard has back-to-back Speedweeks victories on six occasions in his career among 24 miniseries victories overall. … Clay Harris of Jupiter, Fla., was in contention for his first Lucas Oil victory when he got into the turn-two wall Thursday at All-Tech while running second. … Speedweeks upstart Justin Weaver of Clear Lake, Md., won a heat and briefly ran second early in Thursday’s All-Tech opener before fading to 19th and retiring after 29 laps.

Up next: Saturday’s Lucas Oil action concludes at All-Tech with a $15,000-to-win Stevie Whitener Memorial finale while Hendry County’s WoO doubleheader finale pays $20,000-to-win in the Swamp Cabbage 100

Next week: Lucas Oil's Speedweeks action shifts to Ocala (Fla.) Speedway on Feb. 24-28.

This Date in Dirt Late Model History: On Feb. 20, 2015, Shane Clanton of Zebulon, Ga., wins the second of three straight WoO events at Volusia en route to a Big Gator trophy at the DIRTcar Nationals.

Speedweeks trivia: What first-time Speedweeks driver in the 1990s held off a persistent Don O’Neal to score a flag-to-flag feature win at Volusia for just his second career Late Model victory? (Answer in Saturday's almanac; Thursday's answer: Reigning SAS champ Mark Miner won his lone Speedweeks event in 1997 at Golden Isles Speedway.)
