Wild snaps four-year drought on SUPR tour

BAKER, La. (Oct. 27) — Starting outside the front row, Marlon Wild of Springfield, La., raced to a victory in the 50-lap Floyd Clausen Memorial at Baton Rouge Raceway. Wild took control when frontrunners Bub McCool of Vicksburg, Miss., and Kenny Merchant of Ruston, La., were caught up in an incident involving a lapped car.
Wild collected $2,500 and his first victory on the O'Reilly Auto Parts Southern United Professional Racing tour since 2003.
Sixth-starting Ricky Idom of Hattiesburg, Miss., also posted his best SUPR finish in years with a runner-up performance while Allen Tippen of Minden, La., Robbie Stuart of Deridder, La., and James Ward of Lettsworth, La., gave Louisiana four of the top five finishers in the SUPR 2007 finale.
Wild, who has nine career SUPR victories, last won Aug. 9, 2003, at Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, Miss.
