Martin top Monster foes for Highland victory
HIGHLAND, Ill. (May 29) — Frankie Martin of DuQoin, Ill., won Saturday at Highland Speedway for his first career victory on the Monster Midwest Series. Martin earned $2,000 for the victory.
Multitime track champion Chad Zobrist of Highland finished second followed by fast qualifier Greg Johnson of Bedford, Ind. Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Ill., and Charley Hess of Peoria, Ill., rounded out the top five. Series points leader Brian Shirley of Chatham, Ill., finished 11th in the 40-lap main event.
