Lee outruns Chamberlain at Richmond's Butterball
RICHMOND, Ky. (July 17) — Victor Lee of Stanford, Ky., overtook Duane Chamberlain of Richmond, Ind., on the 22nd lap at Richmond Raceway and sped to victory in the 23rd annual Butterball Wooldridge Memorial. Lee, who became the fourth repeat winner of the traditional summer event, earned $5,000 for the unsanctioned victory postponed by rain on June 12.
Chamberlain settled for second with 13th-starting David Webb of Nicholasville, Ky., in third. Dustin Linville of Bryantsville, Ky., rebounded from a wreck the previous night at Ponderosa Speedway to finish fourth and Aaron Hatton of Mount Sterling, Ky., rounded out the top five.
Scott James of Lawrenceburg, Ind., rallied from his 17th starting spot to finish seventh and weekly points leader Jason Barrett of Waco, Ky., was 11th in a race slowed by three cautions, all in the first 26 laps of the 50-lapper.
