Workman edges Walters at Cottage Grove
COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (June 11) — Billy Workman Jr. of Canby, Ore., topped reigning series champion Greg Walters of Banks, Ore., on Saturday for a victory on the DAA Extreme Northwest Crate Late Model Series.
Workman took the lead from polesitter Jason Wines of Lebanon, Ore., on the seventh lap and won a duel the rest of the way with Walters, who edged ahead to lead a single circuit on lap 27.
Walters settled for second with Joey Tanner of Portland in third. Wines was fourth and Steve Moore of Scio, Ore., rounded out the top five in the 40-lap main event.
