Champ grabs Total Seal victory in Tucson
TUCSON, Ariz. (June 18) — Reigning series champion Ricky Thornton Jr. of Chandler, Ariz., notched his second victory of the season Saturday in Total Seal Late Model Dirt Racing Series action at USA Raceway, topping polesitter John Cornell of Phoenix, Ariz.
The fifth-starting Thornton grabbed his first victory since April 23 and seventh of his career to earn $1,000 while Cornell settled for the second spot. Terry Belcher Jr. of Phoenix was third followed by Chris Duchac and hometown driver Paul Banghart.
