Tucson Winter Extreme race format
TUCSON, Ariz. (Jan. 11) — Race format for the Super Late Model portion of the inaugural Winter Extreme Jan. 12-20 at Tucson International Raceway:
• Pill draw will determine lineups for heat races. If there are 47 or fewer cars, there will be five heat races; six heats for 48 or more cars.
• Passing points (using system at right) will be awarded following heat races.
• If there are five heat races, the top four cars in passing points from each heat will transfer to the main event. The remaining cars will lineup in two consolation races (set by passing points). The top two from each transfer to the main event.
• If there are six heat races, the top three cars in passing points from each heat will transfer to the main event. The remaining cars will lineup in two consolation races (set by passing points). The top three from each transfer to the main event.
• The main event lineup will be set by heat race transferrees straightup according to passing points. Drivers transferring from the consolation races will start in the final rows.
