From series reports

ORRVILLE, Ohio (June 14) — Doug Drown of Wooster, Ohio continued his impressive first half of the season with a $4,000 victory in the inaugural event for the Weekley Electric Icon Memorial Tour Friday night at NAPA Wayne County Speedway.

Drown’s Freedom Fighters 40 victory came on the first race of the planned four-race miniseries after Thursday’s race at Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, W.Va., was rained out.

Seventh-starting Jared Miley of South Park, Pa., took second from Donnie Moran of Dresden, Ohio, on the race’s only restart following a lap-35 caution. Miley made a run at Drown during the last five laps of the race but couldn’t make the pass for the lead.

Miley settled for second with Moran third. Keith Berner of Millersburg, Ohio, was fourth at the finish with Keith Barbara of South Park, Pa., rounding out the top finishers.

Notes: Drown’s Weekley Racing-owned Rocket Chassis is sponsored by Weekley Electric, EFCO Outdoor Power Equipment, Wooster Glass Company, DJ Directional Services and Hoosier Racing Tire. ... The speedweek moves to Pittsburgh Pa.
