Daniel ends SUPR drought at Boothill

GREENWOOD, La. (Aug. 30) — Patrik Daniel of Wills Point, Texas, won Friday at Boothill Speedway for the second victory in his career on the P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racing.
The 32-year-old Daniel, whose first SUPR victory came in the final race of the 2005 season when he was the tour’s Rookie of the Year, earned $2,000 in capturing the first of three Labor Day weekend races on the series. | Slideshow
The seventh-starting Daniel took the checkers ahead of outside front-row starter Kevin Sitton of Baytown, Texas. SUPR points leader Rob Litton of Alexandria, La., was third while Shane Hebert of Lafayette, La., was fourth and his his two-race winning streak on the series come to an end.
Polesitter Jon Mitchell of Texarkana, Texas, slipped to a seventh-place finish at the oval just west of Shreveport.

Drivers failing to qualifier for the Boothill feature: Rick Duke Jr., Shane Walker, David LaFleur and Rickey Brown. ... Because of problems in his own car, provisional starter Zach McMillan started the feature in Duke’s machine; he was the first retiree. ... SUPR competitors head to Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, Texas, on Saturday and Greenville (Miss.) Speedway on Sunday.
