Lucas Oil Series rounds up contingencies

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series has announced its sponsors and marketing partners for the 2017 season. The series has lined up more than two dozen marketing partners for this racing season.

“We'd like to thank all of the 2017 sponsors and marketing partners who see the value in our organization,” said Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series director Rick Schwallie. “We can attribute the strength and success of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to their support. It's great to have progressive companies offering added bonuses through the various contingency programs.”

2017 contingency sponsors include:

• Crown Jewel Cup: The ASi Racewear Crown Jewel Cup presented by DirtonDirt.com will award points to drivers at the 10 crown jewel events, within the series schedule, that pay $20,000 or more to the winner. The award pays $10,000 to the champion at the end of the season. Drivers finishing second and third in the Crown Jewel Cup will also receive cash awards. Drivers finishing second and third also receive a cash award.

• TV Race Challenge: Bad Boy Mowers and E3 Spark Plugs will sponsor the TV Points Challenge. The driver that accumulates the most points, within the 22 televised events on the series schedule, will be crowned the TV Points Challenge Champion, which boasts a $10,000 cash award. Drivers finishing second and third also receive a cash award.

• Championship Bonus: Sweet Manufacturing will award a $10,000 cash bonus to the 2017 champion.

• Fast Time Award: Miller Welders returns as the title sponsor of Miller Welders Time Trials. $100 will be awarded to the overall fastest qualifier at each event; along with $500 at the championship banquet to the driver who earns the most Miller Welders Fast Time awards throughout the season.

• Hard Charger of the Year: The Optima Batteries Hard Charger of the Year awards $500 at the year-end awards banquet to the driver who arns the most Hard Charger of the Race awards throughout the season.

• Crew Chief of the Year: Outerwears will recognize the top crew chief. Through the Outerwears Crew Chief of the Year program, points are awarded to the Crew Chief of the Race at each event. The crew chief accumulating the most points will receive $1,000 at the year-end banquet.

• Rookie of the Year: The Hot Rod Processing Rookie of the Race will receive a $100 cash bonus at each event. The driver earning the most rookie points throughout the season will receive $10,000, plus additional product certificates at the year-end banquet. The driver finishing second in the Rookie of the Year chase receives a $2,500 cash award.

• Most Top Five Finishes: Simpson Race Products will award $500 plus an additional product certificate at the championship awards banquet to the driver who earns the most top-five finishes throughout the season.

• Race for Gas/Road to Wheatland: The Sunoco Race Fuels Race for Gas competition rewards the drivers who utilize Sunoco Race Fuels. The driver who earns the most Race for Gas points receives a $3,000 award. The runner up will receive $1,000. The Sunoco Road to Wheatland program awards a $2,500 bonus to the top 10 drivers from the previous year's point standings who maintain perfect attendance through the Show-Me 100 on May 27. In addition, if a Sunoco Race Fuels-sponsored driver wins the Show-Me 100 and maintains perfect attendance through the Road to Wheatland, that driver receives a $2,000 cash award at the end of the season.

• Most Heat Race Wins: The Eibach Springs Most Heat Race Wins program will award $500 plus an additional product certificate to the driver who earns the most heat race wins throughout the season.

• Most Feature Wins: Wrisco Aluminum will award $1,000 cash to the driver accumulating the most feature wins.

• Power Move of the Race: The Allstar Performance Power Move of the Race awards a $100 product certificate to the driver who advances the most positions in the final 10-laps of the feature at each event. The driver earning the most Power Move of the Race awards throughout the season will receive $500 and a $500 product certificate.

• Most Laps Led: The Safecraft Most Laps Led awards $100 cash to the driver leading the most laps in the feature at each event.

• Point Leader Spoiler Challenge: Midwest Sheet Metal returns as the title sponsor of the Point Leader Spoiler Challenge. The driver leading the championship point standings at each event will receive a $100 bonus and carry the Midwest Sheet Metal day-glow orange spoiler. The driver accumulating the most spoiler challenge points throughout the season will receive $1,000 at the awards banquet.

• Engine Builders Challenge: The COMP Cams Engine Builders Challenge honors the top engine builders of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Participating engine builders earn points at each event based on the highest finishing driver with their engine. The engine builder earning the most points will be crowned the COMP Cams Engine Builder of the Year, worth $1,500 and additional product certificates. Engine builders finishing second and third in the Engine Builders Challenge will also receive various product awards.

• Chassis Builders Challenge: Öhlins Shocks has returned as the title sponsor of the Chassis Builders Challenge. Participating chassis builders will earn points at each event based on the highest finishing driver with their chassis. Öhlins Shocks will award $1,000 cash plus an additional product certificate to the chassis builder who earns the most points throughout the season.
