Mike Marlar celebrates Saturday's $15,000 payday at Atomic.
What won the race: Completing a sweep of the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series-sanctioned championship weekend, Mike Marlar of Winfield, Tenn., held off charges from Devin Moran to capture Saturday's 40-lap Championship Night feature at Atomic Speedway. The 47-year-old racer beat Moran by 1.162 seconds for a $15,000 payday, pushing his two-day earnings to more than $20,000.
Key notes: The victory was Marlar's second in five starts over the past three weekends since his return to driving for team owner Ronnie Delk. ... He scored his fifth career Iron-Man triumph and his fifth overall win of the 2025 season. ... Marlar led the entire distance and Moran registered his second runner up finish in as many nights. ... Jason Jameson slipped by new JRR Motorsports teammate Josh Rice for third on lap 25. ... Fourth-finishing Tyler Carpenter also overtook Rice late, leaving Rice settling for fifth. ... Colten Burdette clinched the Iron-Man tour's championship despite finishing 21st after retiring on lap 10 following a turn-two scrape with Rice and a lapped car that sent him spinning out of fifth place. His closest pursuer in the standings, Rusty Schlenk, opted to race on Saturday at Montpelier (Ind.) Speedway. ... Camaron Marlar, the winner's younger brother, scratched from the feature with mechanical issues.
On the move: Michael Lake of Uniontown, Pa., started 14th and finished ninth.
Winner's sponsors: Marlar's winning Ronnie Delk-owned Longhorn Chassis is sponsored by Delk Equipment Sales, Can-Am Auto Salvage, Langenfelder Mechanical Contractors, Mesilla Valley Transportation, Petroff Towing, Certain Teed, VP Racing Fuels, ABC Supply Co Inc., and Longhorn Dynamics.
Points chase: Colten Burdette of Parkersburg, W.Va., clinched his first career Iron-Man Series title.
