What won the race: Second-starting Justin Williams of Concord, Va., staved off consistent pressure from Tyler Arrington en route to a flag-to-flag victory in Saturday's 60-lap Pro Late Model Paramount at Natural Bridge Speedway. Williams held off Arrington on a late-race restart for the $10,000 victory on the American Crate All-Star Series presented by PPM, his ninth feature win of the season and sixth career Natural Bridge special.
Quotable: “I was praying for a caution when we got in that lapped traffic and then (the track surface) locked down pretty good. I think all of us was running the same speed then and I couldn’t go anywhere,” Williams said. “I guess (Tyler Arrington) closed in pretty tight on me and I was glad that caution came out.”
Key notes: Williams notched his second Natural Bridge special this season, adding to his Aug. 9 Blue Ridge Outlaws victory, worth $5,000. ... His other seven wins came in local competition as he captured the track championship. ... Tyler Arrington pursued Williams the entire way, nearly drawing alongside down the backstretch on the 46th lap, but didn't have anything for him on a lap-55 restart. Arrington clinched the 2025 American Crate All-Star Series title after his closest challenger, Ryan Smith, finished 10th. ... Third-starting John Ruggiero Jr., winner of June’s $10,000 Bridge 58 special in All-Star Crate Series action, slipped to finish fifth. ... Michael Leach, fresh off his Nov. 2 World Short Track Championship victory in 604 Crates at Charlotte, finished 14th as the final starter to complete 60 laps. ... The 27-minute race was slowed once on lap 55 when Colton Stanley suffered a flat right front; he was credited with 19th after pitting. ... Kyle Hardy pulled off under green on lap 33. ... Natural Bridge had technical issues with its equipment and manually scored the main event. ... Braeson Fulton scratched.
On the move: Trent Ivey of Union, S.C., started 18th and finished 13th.
