Michael Page (x) muscles his way by Josh Rice (11) to win at Duck River.
What won the race: Taking command for the second and final time on the 24th circuit, third-starting Michael Page of Douglasville, Ga., paced the final 17 laps to win Saturday's 37th annual Gobbler at Duck River Raceway Park. The 42-year-old Page took the checkers 1.110 seconds ahead of Dalton Cook to earn a season-high $7,500 payday.
Key notes: Page's $7,500 victory was his richest of this season, which also includes a sweep of February's Bama Brawl at Fort Payne (Ala.) Motor Speedway and an unsanctioned Limited Late Model triumph earlier this month at Cochran (Ga.) Motor Speedway. … Dalton Cook improved five positions for a runner-up finish, as did third-place finisher Camaron Marlar. ... Outside front-row starter Josh Putnam overtook Page on lap 11 and led until the 23rd circuit, when colliding with a slowing Jack Franklin forced him to retire. ... On the ensuing restart, third-running Jadon Frame struck the backstretch wall and came to a halt, collecting Brayden Skinner and Matthew Taylor, who were unable to continue. ... Chasing his fifth feature win of the season at Duck River, Sam Seawright of Rainsville, Ala., spun from ninth and was credited with 23rd after pulling off. ... Pole-starting Josh Rice paced the opening two circuits before a tangle with eventual winner Michael Page ended his night in the early going. ... The 40-lapper lasted 32 minutes with 10 starters completing the entire distance.
On the move: Ray Cook of Brasstown, N.C., started 21st and finished eighth.
Winner's sponsors: Page's Mach X Chassis house car carries sponsorship from Coltman Farms Racing, Cove 2 Coast Marine, Brucebilt Fabrication, Baird Seawright Racing and Southern Ridge Home & Development.
