What won the race: Racing around race-long leader Brandon Sheppard exiting turn four on the 14th lap, Devin Moran of Dresden, Ohio, on Saturday evening captured Brownstown Speedway's Indiana Icebreaker for the third straight season. The fourth-starting Moran, in his first race since becoming a father, took the checkers 1.633 seconds ahead of polesitter Ricky Thornton Jr. for his tour-leading fourth Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory of the season.
Quotable: "I am living a fairy tale, you know?" Moran said. "Everything's going right in my life right now and it's all the glory to God. So, it's just amazing to have our first win with our little baby tonight."
Key notes: Devin Moran's wife Lakia delivered their first child, Poppy Jane, two weeks earlier. He climbed out in victory lane with a kiss for both. ... Moran twice pulled off turn-two slide jobs on Brandon Sheppard on laps 13 and 14 with Sheppard's crossover moves keeping him out front until Moran went around for good on lap 15. ... Moran fought off a late challenge from Max Blair, who ended up third, and captured his 26th career full-field Lucas Oil Series victory. ... Sheppard slipped back to finish fifth. ... Seven cautions slowed the action, the first for a Tyler Collins spin in turn two on the first attempted start. ... A second yellow flew on the eighth lap when Tripp Gerrald spun in turn four with Collins spinning to avoid. ... On the ensuing restart, 11th-running Brian Shirley went around in turn two and collected Cory Lawler with Collins and Freddie Carpenter also getting hung up. ... Another multicar tangle appeared on the next restart with Collins and Gerrald part of another scramble that required a lengthy cleanup. ... On the 13th lap, Dillon McCowan slowed in turn four. ... Cory Lawler spun on lap 18. ... On the 32nd lap, Dan Ebert spun in turn four, collecting Dillon McCowan and Daniel Hilsabeck for another cleanup. ... The feature started before nightfall at Brownstown, lasting 39 minutes. ... The 28 cars was the fewest cars in event history; the previous low was 30 in 2017.
On the move: Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., started eighth and finished third; Josh Rice of Crittenden, Ky., started 17th and finished fourth.
