What won the race: Winning his fourth straight World of Outlaws Late Model Series feature, points leader Bobby Pierce overtook polesitter Ethan Dotson amid traffic on the 11th lap and led the rest of Friday's 40-lapper at River Cities Speedway. Pierce cruised the rest of the way for a $15,000 payday, taking the checkers 0.534 of a second ahead of eighth-starting Tyler Erb with Dotson in third.
Quotable: “It's awesome to finally win here and just have a good car," Pierce said. "We thought long and hard about it yesterday. We studied lots of film and just thought about what to do with the race car and the attributes of this racetrack, how it kind of bleeds back as the night goes on. We kind of got to do different stuff than what we normally do."
Key notes: Bobby Pierce notched his 14th victory of the season and 56th of his career. ... He has won eight of his last nine starts overall, starting with Eldora Speedway's Dream XXXII weekend. ... Pierce overcame vision problems late after running out of tear-offs. ... The 40-lapper's lone caution appeared on the 12th lap for a slowing Ryan Gustin. ... Dustin Sorensen pitted during the caution and returned to finish the race on seven cylinders. ... The 13-minute feature concluded at 10:18 p.m. ... In prelims, Cody Overton pulled off during time trials and scratched for the night with electrical issues. ... River Cities hosted the Outlaws for the 10th straight year and 19th time overall; Pierce is the tour's 14th winner there.
