What won the race: Returning to the scene of the biggest moments of his career, outside front-row starter Ray Moore of Haughton, La., won a back-and-forth battle with Bub McCool for his fifth career series victory and first since 2011. The third-starting McCool, of Vicksburg, Miss., was second followed by series points leader Kyle Beard of Trumann, Ark., who improved three positions.

Quotable: "Bub did everything he could, he likes this place just as much as I do and I've got the utmost respect for Bub McCool," Moore said. "We did get into it just a little bit in (turn) one, but I think it was just racing. We both want to win here so bad."

Key notes: Moore previously pocketed $10,000 in ArkLaTex's Pelican 100 on Feb. 25-26, 2011, and finished second to Hall of Famer Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn., last month in the track's first Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event after leading most of the way. ... Series stalwart Jon Mitchell of Texarkana, Tex., was among the early retirees. ... Lee Davis spun over turns three and four and retired on the 15th lap. ... The track drew 140 race cars overall ... The tour's Friday stop at Timberline Speedway was rained out, but the series has scheduled a May 16-17 doubleheader at the 2-year-old track in Corley, Texas.

On the move: Brandon Smith of Floral, Ark., salvaged his evening with a rally from 15th to finish sixth.
