Bobby Pierce (32) stalks Rodney Melvin (27) at Belle-Clair.
What won the race: After dueling with Rodney Melvin for the lead the first half of the race, Bobby Pierce's slide job in turns three and four on a mid-race restart sent him to victory while Melvin got into wall and slipped out of contention.
Key notes: Unhappy with Pierce's slide job, Rodney Melvin headed toward victory lane to express his displeasure. ... On the track, Melvin stepped out of line during a lap-35 caution and nudged Pierce's machine... Pierce, who started third, and Melvin, who started outside the front row, traded slide jobs and the lead in the feature's early laps. ... The race was postponed a week because of the harsh winter. ... Pierce plans to continue his weekend at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway on Saturday for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Indiana Icebreaker.
On the move: Daryn Klein started eighth and finished fourth.
Winner's sponsors: Pierce's Pierce Race Car has a Pro Power engine and sponsorship from Champion Spark Plugs, Petersen Aluminum, Murphy Trucking, Keyser Manufacturing and Hoosier Tire.
