Don O'Neal heads to his fifth Indiana Icebreaker victory.
What won the race: Third-starting Don O'Neal of Martinsville, Ind., went around polesitter Eddie Carrier Jr. on the 11th lap, then survived some tight moments in traffic before pulling away for his fifth career Indiana Icebreaker victory.
Quotable: “I knew after the heat race we had a good enough race car to win," O'Neal said. "We just had to get the right tires on it for the feature, and evidently we did.”
Key notes: The feature ran caution-free. ... The Indiana Icebreaker is first series event since Florida Speedweeks. ... It's traditionally the first major Dirt Late Model event in the Midwest and it drew a huge crowd. ... At times the concession stand line stretched the length of the frontstretch. ... A folded-under nosepiece hampered polesitter Shannon Babb in the second heat and he missed the main event. ... Drivers making their Brownstown debuts: Devin Moran, Jason Papich, Randy Weaver, Jason Hughes and Ricky Weiss.
On the move: Steve Francis of Ashland, Ky., rallied from his 11th starting spot to finish third.
Winner's sponsors: O'Neal's Clint Bowyer Racing Barry Wright Race Cars house car is powered by a Clements Automotive engine and sponsored by Crawford Supply, Peak Motor Oil, Cometic Gasket and Traeger Grills.
Points chase: Don O'Neal moved into the points lead with 1,095 points, overtaking eighth-finishing Earl Pearson, who stands at 1,070. Steve Francis (1,065), Eddie Carrier Jr. (1,055) and John Blankenship (905) fill out the top five.
