Dan Angelicchio (14) works on leader Shane McLoughlin (9).
What won the race: Taking advantage of Shane McLoughlin's slipup, Dan Angelicchio of Greensburg, Pa., blew by on the backstretech on the 32nd of 40 laps and raced to his second Super Late Model victory in as many starts in 2014.
Quotable: “I bought my first late model from Shawn and this means so much to me to win this race in his honor," Angelicchio said. "He was a great guy and we all miss him,”
Key notes: The race honored Dog Hollow's all-time leading feature winner, who died in a 2009 logging accident. ... Front-row starters John Britsky and Dwayne Taneyhill ledthe field to green with Britsky leading the first 26 laps. ... Shane McLoughlin challenged throughout, taking command on lap 27 as Angelicchio took second. ... The high-running McLoughlin slipped over the cushion in turns one and two, allowing the lower-runninge Angelicchio to slip underneath and led the final nine laps. ... Two late cautions didn't bother the winner. ... Andrew Satterlee won the Fastrak Crate feature, leading all 20 laps.
On the move: World of Outlaws Late Model Series regular Chub Frank of Bear Lake, Pa., came from ninth to finish third.
Winner's sponsors: Angelicchio's Rocket Chassis is sponsoredby Brooks Automotive Group, Winchester Auto Auction and S&S Communications.
