What won the race: Polesitter Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., dominated Saturday night’s postponed Zimmer’s United Late Model Series event at Genesee Speedway, leading all 30 laps to claim a $3,000 first-place check. He beat Bryce Davis to the finish line by 1.095 seconds for his fourth ULMS triumph of 2019.

Quotable: “Sometimes that’s what’s tough about starting on the front row is that you really just don’t know what the racetrack’s doing and this place moves around a lot,” said Blair. “I’ve been here just a few times and I know Bryce (Davis) can always make the top work here when nobody else can, so I kinda figured that’s what he was doing. And what (David Scott) did in the first feature (work the inside) I kinda figured that’s what he was doing. I didn’t really know what to do. I felt really good rolling right through the middle, especially down here (in turns one and two).”

Key notes: Blair's 23rd career ULMS victory — tops on the Chris Zuver-promoted tour's all-time win list — came in a feature that was held over by rain on its original July 4 date. ... Nine of the 13 drivers scheduled to start the event returned to compete; missing were Bob Dorman, Mike Smith, Dave Dubois and Al Brewer. ... Davis ran in the runner-up spot for all but two circuits of the feature; he briefly ceded the position to eventual fifth-place finisher Michael Wonderling Jr. on laps one and seven. ... Third-place finish David Scott won Genesee's regularly-scheduled ULMS A-main earlier in the program.
