What won the race: Scoring his richest two-victory weekend since 2012, polesitter Steve Casebolt of Richmond, Ind., tallied a $7,166 victory Saturday at Portsmouth Raceway Park to lift his Buckeye State weekend earnings to more than $11,000. The flag-to-flag winner, who earned $5,000 Friday at Moler Raceway Park's Ike Moler Memorial, earned $6,083 for winning the 25th and final Fred Dillow Memorial, adding $1,083 for leading at halfway and $50 for leading the first lap.
Quotable: “I just love coming here, this is a great racetrack,” Casebolt said. “Great people here and the fans are great, and we filled these stands up tonight. It’s just a lot of fun to come here."
Key notes: Casebolt swept the same weekend in 2012 for a $10,000 weekend. ... The Flyin' Fred Finale marked the final time the Dillow family will honor the late familar patrarch. ... Casebolt's victory guaranteed him a starting spot in Sept. 1's Hillbilly 100 at Tyler County Speedway. … R.J.
