Dusty Moore poses in victory lane after winning his first-ever ALMS event at Oakshade Raceway.
What won the race: Polesitter Dusty Moore of Swanton, Ohio, scored his first career Sunoco American Late Model Series victory Saturday with a $2,000 triumph in the Cricket Wireless 30 at Oakshade Raceway. Moore lost the lead to Casey Noonan on lap 18 following a restart, but the veteran regained command one circuit later and turned back a late challenge from Ryan Missler.
Key notes: Moore battled for the lead early with Casey Noonan and Ryan Missler; Missler was later able to draw alongside Moore in the closing circuits while racing through lapped traffic after wrestling second from Noonan, but he settled for runner-up money. ... Noonan held for third. ... The race was red-flagged on lap three when Chad White, who entered the night second in the ALMS points, barrel-rolled on the backstretch. He was uninjured and able to drive his car back to the pits. ... Oakshade hosted the ALMS for the second and final time this season and the 82nd time in series history. … It was the second race of the tour’s weekend tripleheader, which began Friday at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Mich., and wraps up Sunday at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
On the move: Rusty Schlenk of McClure, Ohio, started eighth and finished fourth; Steve Kester of Holland, Ohio, started 16th and finished ninth.
Winner's sponsors: Moore’s Rayburn Race Car is sponsored by Classic Industries, Rayburn RSR, J. McLoskey Concrete, Dominator Race Products, Markley Ambulance Rental and WarPaint Graphics.
