What won the race: Regaining the lead upon the lap-21 demise of Mark Whitener, John Baker of Norman Park, Ga., earned a $5,000 victory in Golden Isles Speedway’s Showdown on the Coast for Southern Clash-style Late Models.
Key notes: Baker led the first part of the race before Whitener took control on lap 12 and led 10 laps before mechanical woes forced him out. … Whitener earned $3,000 in the Limited Late Model feature (he also won the super street feature and increased his overall 2019 victory total to 29).
