What won the race: Outside front-row starter Pearson Lee Williams of Dublin, Ga., led all but the first lap Saturday at Modoc Speedway to capture the finale of the offseason’s Drydene Xtreme DIRTcar Series, earning $7,000 for his first Super Late Model victory. Williams took the checkers 1.289 seconds ahead of Zack Mitchell while Casey Roberts was third.

Quotable: "I can't thank my crew enough. They busted their tails seven days a week, 24/7, they never gave up on me," Williams said. “I’m a newcomer in this stuff, so we took our lumps on the chin and they were right behind me every single time."

Key notes: Williams, a Crate and Limited standout, was a former crew member for Rum Runner Racing who was promoted to driving duties by team manager Joey Coulter last fall upon Brandon Overton's departure. ...
