Timothy Culp takes the checkers for his $7,000 victory at Boothill.
What won the race: Timothy Culp of Prattsville Ark., snuck past Jesse Stovall with two laps remaining Saturday at Boothill Speedway to capture $7,000 Ronny Adams Memorial victory at Boothill Speedway. Culp won his eighth career Comp Cams Super Dirt Series victory one night after Tyler Erb drove Culp’s backup car to victory at Boothill.
Quotable: “I grew up not very far from here, so this place is kind of like home,” Culp said in Victory Lane. “Ronny was a hard racer, and he was kind of like Dale Earnhardt. He and I had our run-ins on the track and then we’d talk on Monday morning and put the differences behind us. Ronny was a heck of a racer, so it means a lot to win this race in his memory.”
Key notes: Culp is the tour's reigning champion. ... Runner-up Jesse Stovall led 77 of the weekend's 80 feature laps but fell shy both nights. Tyler Erb passed him on the last lap Friday and Culp with two laps to go in the final; a broken lift arm hampered Stovall's ability to hold off Culp. … Erb retired with mechanical issues in Saturday's feature. ... Thirteen of 20 starters completed 50 laps.
On the move: Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., started 16th and finished third.
Winner's sponsors: Culp's Rocket Chassis is powered by Clements Racing Engines and carries sponsorship from Bennings Heat & Air, Carrier, Culp’s Automotive, Loftis Farms and Henry’s Auto Salvage.
