What won the race: Grabbing his second special event win in as many days, fourth-starting Dona Marcoullier of Houghton Lake, Mich., won Saturday's Lane Automotive-Allstar Performance Challenge feature at Merritt Speedway. Backing up Friday’s win at Tri-City Motor Speedway, Marcoullier topped second-row mate Eric Spangler for a $4,000 payday in the Tri-City-Merritt Speedway miniseries.
Key notes: Marcoullier finished 0.730 of a second ahead of Spangler to win his second Lane Automotive-Allstar Performance Challenge Series feature at Merritt. … Twelve of the 22 starters completed all 40 laps. … After breaking his motor during time trials, fast qualifier Rusty Schlenk of McClure, Ohio, borrowed Cody Bauer’s Domination Race Car and started in the rear of his heat. Schlenk improved two positions in the heat, started 15th in the feature and finished 10th. … Polesitter Ryan Lanphierd of Midland, Mich., finished 15th after completing only 26 laps. … Friday’s race was the first of back-to-back Lane Automotive-Allstar Performance Challenge Series action at Merritt. … Saturday’s finale pays $10,000-to-win.
