Justin Kann takes the checkers at Port Royal Speedway.
What won the race: Justin Kann of Hesston, Pa., outdueled fellow front-row starter Jeff Miller of Huntingdon, Pa., on a lap-14 restart and led the rest of the 33-lap distance, holding off Andy Haus of Easton, Pa., for a $3,993 triumph in the Butch Renninger Memorial.
Key notes: Kann completed a clean sweep of the evening, setting fast time, winning his heat and triumphing in the feature. ... A late caution on the 28th lap gave Haus a shot at Kann, but he was forced to settle for second. ... Miller was 16th in the final rundown after being involved in the caution with five laps remaining. ... Ten drivers completed all 33 laps. ... The race, which boasted a purse of over $15,000, opened the 160th Juniata County Fair. ... Lap leaders picked up $33 per lap and heat winners and the fast qualifier earned $33 apiece. ... Kann's grand total for the the evening amounted to $3,993. ... The race honored Butch Renninger, a three-time track Late Model champion who died in 2004 at age 62. ....
