What won the race: Randy Weaver of Crossville, Tenn., slid by Chris Madden of Gray Court, S.C., with three laps remaining to secure a $5,000 Southern All Star Series victory in the King of the Mountain Classic. It was the second SAS win of 2014 for Weaver, who battled with Madden for virtually the entire distance.

Key notes: Weaver was victorious in the last SAS event run, on July 26 at Talladega (Ala.) Short Track. ... The three races scheduled since then were rained out or canceled. ... Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Ga., scored an impressive fifth-place finish in his first full program teamed with the Blount Motorsports operation. ... Brian Reese's car was towed off the track during the feature's four-wide pace lap, but he returned after some quick pit work. ... The feature rolled onto the track at 9:45 p.m. ET. ... Two weeks after splitting with the Blount Motorsports team, Billy Ogle Jr. was in action in the Limited Late Model division. He was the class's fastest qualifier driving Drew Kennedy's backup car and led the feature until dropping out with mechanical trouble on lap five, paving the way for Cory Hedgecock to take the win. ...
