Weaver earned $4,000 in the Alabama State Championships finale while SAS points leader Riley Hickman, who started in the ninth row, finished second. Chris Madden and Clanton finished third and fourth after battling for second the first half of the race.
Quotable: "I like this racetrack, and when they prep it like they did, every time they do that, it just puts on a good race for all these fans," said Weaver, who has won the Alabama state title two of the last three seasons. "It's fun to drive this place."
Key notes: Weaver has 26 career Southern All Star victories. ... The victory came a night after Weaver was stripped of his time trial in Saturday's action for a technical infraction. ... Moseley, Cale Simons and Mark Whitener. ... The Southern All Stars are part of the three-day weekend of the 36th annual Alabama State Championships, which includes four Late Model divisions with different engine packages: Supers (SAS), Chevrolet Performance Series (CT 525), Sportsman (limited) and Crate Late Models.
On the move: Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, Tenn., started 17th and finished second.
