Tim Dohm picked up $20,000 at Virginia Motor Speedway.
What won the race: Sixth-starting Tim Dohm of Cross Lanes, W.Va., took the lead from David Smith of Inman, S.C., on the 27th lap and went on to score a $20,000 triumph in the Fastrak World Championship. Dohm's margin of victory was 3.002 seconds.
Quotable: “I’ve won some $10,000 to win races but this is amazing, the biggest win of my career,” Dohm said. “The car was just amazing, I could take it anywhere on the racetrack.”
Key notes: Walker Arthur of Forest, Va., led the first two laps before giving way to the third-starting Smith. ... Smith held the point from laps 3-26. ... Dohm led the final 35 laps en route to victory. ... Matt Long led flag-to-flag for a $1,500 victory in the non-qualifiers' race. ... Time trials and heat races were contested Friday. ... The Tire-X Pit Crew Challenge was held Saturday with the fastest tire-changers (crew and fan) receiving $250. ... A crew member from the team of Taylor Hicks suffered a fractured shoulder in a four-wheeler accident.
On the move: After being disqualified in post-race tech for an illegal carburetor following a heat race victory on Friday, Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., won a consolation race from the tail and then charged from the 10th row to finish second in the main event.
Winner's sponsors: Dohm's A1 Swartz Race Car is sponsored by Triple J Forest Products, 84 Lumber, A1 Tires & Auto Care and Dohm Cycles.
Points chase: Kyle Thomas topped Fastrak's weekly points while David Smith of Inman, S.C. (Southeast) and Joel Prosser of New Martinsville, W.Va. (Northeast) won touring titles.
