Keith Nosbisch of Valrico, Fla., won from the pole at Ocala.
What won the race: Polesitter Keith Nosbisch of Valrico, Fla., a 30-year veteran, notched his fifth NeSmith Series victory but first in seven years in Friday's 50-lapper. Nosbisch gave up the point to Walker Arthur of Forest, Va., after leadiing 11 circuits, but fought back ahead on lap 18 to lead the balance of the distance at Ocala's trioval.
Quotable: “The lapped cars really slowed my pace down by a half a second, and Walker caught me behind a lapped car and passed me for the lead on the outside,” Nosbisch said. “I knew if I was patient enough, I could get back under him if the lapped cars would give me enough room and they did.”
Key notes: Wednesday's winner Mark Whitener dropped Walker Arthur to third. ... Eight cautions slowed the action, including for Justin McRee's lap-38 spin; McRee ran as high as third early. ... Fourteen of 24 starters completed 50 laps in a race lasting 51 minutes.
On the move: Jake Knowles of Tyrone, Ga., started 17th and finished ninth.
Winner's sponsors: Nosbisch's Rocket Chassis is sponsored by Image Skin Care, Adams Used Auto Parts and Buddy's Home Furnishings.
Points chase: Walker Arthur of Forest, Va., has 280 points to lead Mark Whitener (268) and Tyler Clem (264).
